Maar de crypto-markt werkt vaak precies andersom. Deze week ging de eerste beursgenoteerde ETF voor een privacy-munt live, een mijlpaal voor Zcash. En juist toen die handel begon, zakte de koers weg. Hoe zit dat?<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat is er precies gebeurd?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grayscale, een van de grootste beheerders van cryptoproducten ter wereld, heeft zijn bestaande Zcash-trust omgevormd tot een echte spot-ETF. Sinds dinsdag verhandelt dat product op NYSE Arca onder de ticker ZCSH. Het is de eerste keer dat beleggers via een gewone beurs kunnen instappen in een privacy-munt, zonder zelf een wallet te openen of coins te bewaren.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een spot-ETF houdt de onderliggende munt echt aan, in dit geval ZEC. Dat maakt het aantrekkelijk voor grote partijen die liever binnen de vertrouwde regels van de aandelenmarkt blijven. Je kunt het zien als een deur die opengaat: geld dat eerder buiten crypto bleef, kan nu makkelijker naar binnen. De offici\u00eble details staan in het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/0001720265\/000119312526363603\/zcsh__424b3.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">prospectus dat bij de SEC is ingediend<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waarom daalt de koers dan?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In de aanloop naar de lancering steeg de Zcash koers hard, met zo&#8217;n 60 procent, tot het hoogste niveau in acht jaar. Verwachting drijft koersen. Zodra het nieuws echt binnen is, is er niets meer om op te wachten. Dan pakken handelaren hun winst en verkopen ze. Dat patroon heet &#8216;sell the news&#8217;, en na de start van de handel zakte ZEC ongeveer 8 procent terug.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daar komt bij dat er veel hefboom in de markt zat. Beleggers hadden posities opgebouwd met geleend geld om extra van de rally te profiteren. Zulke posities versterken bewegingen: gaat de koers omhoog, dan versnelt dat, maar bij een omslag worden ze vaak gedwongen verkocht. Zo kan een kleine daling opeens groter uitpakken dan je zou denken.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waarom is een privacy-munt-ETF bijzonder?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zcash is een privacy-munt. Met zogeheten shielded transacties kun je betalingen versturen zonder dat de details voor iedereen zichtbaar zijn op de blockchain. Precies dat kenmerk maakte toezichthouders lang huiverig. Privacy en financieel toezicht botsen nu eenmaal snel.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dat er nu t\u00f3ch een gereguleerde ETF omheen komt, is daarom een teken dat het klimaat verschuift. De grote vraag is niet de beweging van vandaag, maar of de ETF op termijn structureel nieuw geld naar Zcash trekt.
