Zo&#8217;n machine kan namelijk de wiskunde kraken die nu je crypto beschermt. En dus heeft de Ethereum Foundation zichzelf een duidelijke opdracht gegeven: voor december 2029 moet het netwerk bestand zijn tegen die dreiging. Geen vaag onderzoeksdoel, maar een streep in het zand.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waarom een quantumcomputer een probleem is<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even terug naar de basis. Je munten op Ethereum zijn beveiligd met een private key: een geheime code waarmee jij, en alleen jij, kunt tekenen voor een transactie. Die beveiliging leunt op wiskunde die een gewone computer nooit binnen een mensenleven kan omkeren.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een krachtige quantumcomputer speelt volgens andere regels. Die zou in theorie uit een publiek adres de bijbehorende geheime sleutel kunnen herleiden. Kan dat, dan is niet \u00e9\u00e9n wallet in gevaar, maar het hele fundament onder het netwerk. Vandaar dat de bouwers dit serieus nemen, ook al bestaat zo&#8217;n machine nu nog niet.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een deadline die je niet kunt inplannen<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het bijzondere aan december 2029 is dat het een datum is voor iets wat niemand precies kan timen. Niemand weet wanneer de eerste quantumcomputer sterk genoeg is om echt schade aan te richten. Het kan over vijftien jaar zijn, of eerder dan verwacht.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juist daarom kiest de Ethereum Foundation ervoor de deadline hard te maken in plaats van hem aan te laten hangen. Door de bescherming klaar te hebben v\u00f3\u00f3r het probleem er is, loop je niet achter de feiten aan. Zie het als een dak dat je repareert terwijl de zon nog schijnt, niet als het al lekt. Volgens de <a href=\"https:\/\/beincrypto.com\/ethereum-foundation-quantum-resistance-2029-deadline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">gepubliceerde plannen<\/a> wordt de datum behandeld als een vast punt waar de rest van de planning omheen wordt gebouwd.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoe dit in de roadmap past<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De quantumdoelstelling verscheen niet los, maar naast het huiswerk voor een volgende grote update. Het Protocol-cluster van de Foundation beoordeelde 62 voorstellen voor Hegot\u00e1, de hard fork die na Glamsterdam moet komen. Een hard fork is een ingrijpende netwerk-upgrade waarbij alle deelnemers meebewegen naar nieuwe regels.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quantumbestendigheid tussen die 62 voorstellen zetten betekent dat het geen zijproject meer is, maar onderdeel van de kernagenda. Voor wie de ontwikkeling volgt is dat een belangrijk signaal: de bescherming wordt ingebouwd via de normale upgradecyclus, niet als een noodgreep achteraf.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat dit voor jou als ETH-houder betekent<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Op de korte termijn verandert er niets aan hoe je Ethereum gebruikt of bewaart. Je hoeft nu geen wallet over te zetten of iets aan te passen. De dreiging is toekomstig, en de oplossing wordt geleidelijk voorbereid via updates die stap voor stap uitrollen.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wat w\u00e9l telt, is de houding die hieruit spreekt. Een netwerk dat een probleem aanpakt v\u00f3\u00f3rdat het acuut wordt, laat zien dat het aan de lange termijn denkt.
